Z92-1203-01 Preiser Model 402 Sulfur Analyzer, 240V/50/60Hz/15Amps
Preiser Model 402 Sulfur Analyzer
The operational ease and simplicity of the 402 Sulfur Analyzer allows the analyst to determine the sulfur content of coal samples more rapidly, efficiently, and with greater accuracy than can be obtained using the traditional gravimetric methods of analysis. Utilizing this instrument, a coal or coke sample is combusted in a stream of oxygen at high temperature; the acidic gaseous sulfur components produced are dissolved in a hydrogen peroxide solution and titrated with a sodium hydroxide solution of known concentration. Following titration, the sulfur content of the sample is read directly from the burette.
Features
- The 402 is comprised of four distinct sub-units. Its gas purifying train is a self-contained unit that removes any acidic, gaseous impurities in the oxygen supply and monitors the rate of oxygen flow to the instrument.
- The high temperature dual combustion tube furnace is heated by two silicon carbide rods and is designed to operate on 240 volts, 15 amps 50/60 Hz. The controller/power supply and platinum/platinum-13% rhodium thermocouple maintain the desired furnace temperatures.
- A meter on the face of the controller indicates the temperature of the furnace chamber and whether or not this temperature corresponds with that selected and set-in on the controller.
- The titrator is an electro-mechanically controlled unit, designed for accuracy and ease of operation, and operates on 120 volts, 5 amps, 50/60 Hz. The 25ml automatic zeroing burette has been calibrated to read directly in terms of percentage sulfur content when 0.0500N sodium hydroxide is used as the titrant.
